Life Legacy


Thirmon "Buddy” Nichols, 78, of Groves, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 2, 1931 to Mary Sample Nichols and Joseph Nichols in Port Arthur, Texas. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1951. Buddy served in the U. S. Army, 2nd Division, 23rd Infantry during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Nick’s Gulf service station. He was a member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 AF & AM, member of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Nacol Nichols of Groves, sons, Clint Nichols and his wife Judy of Port Neches, Britt Nichols and his wife Dawn of Little Cypress, daughter, Michelle Jowett and her husband Matthew of Nederland, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
