Vyrl Lee "Boots" Lyons, age 80 passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 at her residence. She was a 40 year resident of Groves and a member of the First Baptist Church of Groves. "Boots" was born on November 26, 1933 in Silsbee, Texas. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Her Funeral service will be on Monday, February 10, 2014 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel of Clayton Thompson at 10:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. "Boots" is survived by her husband, Daniel Lyons of Groves, son, Jeff and his wife Martha LaFitte of Austin, brother, Billy Bumstead of Warren, Texas, sister, Vernell Withers of Spurger and one grandchild.
