Jewell Florine Ames

Jewell "Flo" Ames, age 80 passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born on October 21, 1932 to Jewell James and Mary E. Heldt Smith in Washington D.C. Flo was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Visitation will be on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral services to be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. in the Thompson Memorial Chapel of Clayton Thompson with entombment to follow at the Psalms Mausoleum of Greenlawn Memorial Park. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Ames. Flo is survived by her daughter, Lola Ann Dever of Port Arthur and sister, Darlene Stewart of Montgomery, Texas, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
