Dorothy Ruth Storey, 90, went to be with her heavenly father on April 13, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 17, 1921, she was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur, Texas. Dot was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Port Arthur College. In 1946, she married Floyd Storey, Sr. who preceded her in death. Dot was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the Mary Martha Circle, sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School. She was a past president of the American Business Women's Association and was employed as the Office Manager for Fred Miller's for over 35 years until her retirement in 2001. Dot's beauty was matched by her kind and easy manner. Ever smiling, she never met a stranger and was generous and gracious to everyone. She was a devoted mother and is lovingly remembered for her sewing, baking, cooking and Sunday dinners. Dot is preceded in death by her parents, Emilie Schkade and August Rabe, her brothers, Willard and Andrew Rabe; and her son, Floyd Storey, Jr. She is survived by two daughters Sandra Korpi and husband, Cliff of Katy, Texas; Debbie Falgout and husband, Louis of Beaumont, Texas; son, Donnie Storey and wife, Debbie of Nederland, Texas. Three grandchildren, Trey Pearson, Lauren and Tyler Falgout; three great grandchildren Grant, Madison and McKinnley Pearson. Daughter in law Margie Storey of Colmesneil, Texas; brother in law, Vern Lee Storey and wife Betty of Bridge City; sister in law Edna Rabe of Lexington, Texas, and numerouis nieces and nephews. Also included are special caregivers, Marsha Broussard, Donna Homman, and Anita Rabelo. Pallbearers for Dot are Hardy Sarver, Chris Miller, Charlie Lopez, Victor Rabelo, Rick Hopper, David Guarnere, and Quincy Faulk. The family wishes to thank the caregivers and staff at Summer Place Nursing and Rehab Center, Beaumont, Texas and Odyssey Hospice for their care and concern of our beloved Me Me.
