Eva L. Gossage Hicks, 84, of Bridge City, Texas passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 at her home. She was born on August 25, 1927 to Velma Mayer Gossage and Bill Gossage in Comanche, Texas. Eva was a longtime resident of Houston before moving to Bridge City six years ago. She and her husband Robert owned and operated H & W Hot Shots in Houston for over 30 years. She is a member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #1079 in Nederland. She served as secretary/treasurer for The Texas Cardinals, a special order of the Eastern Star for over 15 years. She is survived by her husband, Robert Hicks of Bridge City, Texas, daughter, Della Nugier of Bridge City, Texas, step-daughters, Karen Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Linda Simonis of Rock Island, Illinois, Mary Mullins of Greenville, Texas and Anna Baldwin of Palm City, Florida, twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Special thanks to her caregiver, Willie Mae Ardoin for her loving care given to Eva over the past few years.
