Michael Phillip McGrew August 21, 1942 - October 14, 2011
Michael Phillip McGrew, 69, of Groves, Texas passed away on October 14, 2011 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston. He was born August 21, 1942 to Bessie "Viv" Phillips McGrew and James "Doc" Kennedy McGrew in Pasadena, Texas. He graduated from Thomas Jeffferson High School in 1961 and Lamar University. Mike was a longtime resident of the Port Arthur/Groves area. He retired from Chevron as a lab tech after 30 years of service. He served in the Army reserves. He was preceded in death by his father, James "Doc" McGrew. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Badeaux McGrew of Groves, Texas, daughter, Monica Thibodeaux and husband Robert of Keller, Texas, foster-daughter, Charlotte Potter and husband Larry of Bridge City, Texas, step-daughter, Autumn Smith of Groves, Texas, step-son, Shawn Clark of Groves along with six grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Bessie "Viv" McGrew of Port Arthur, Texas, sister, Patsy McGrew and her significant other, Roy of Galveston, Texas, brother, Mark McGrew and wife Dawn of Wallis, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews.
