Maria Dawn Chancelor, 34, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 from injuries received in a car accident in Florida. She was born November 22, 1976 to Glenda Sue Denison and Douglas Alan Cummings in Joplin, Missouri. Maria was raised in Milano, Texas where she graduated from high school. She has lived in Sabine Pass and in Nederland for the past six years. She worked as a self employed house cleaner, doing what she loved most. Maria was considered a very neat person, loved her socks, spending time with her babies and always wanted to take care of everybody. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Daniel Denison, Sr. and her husband, Clifton Chancelor. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Roper of Nederland, Texas, her mother, Glenda Denison of Sabine Pass, Texas, her father and step mother, Douglas and Sally Cummings of Neosho, Missouri, her grandfather, Thomas Higginbotham of Seneca, Missouri, her grandmothers, Velma Langford of Joplin, Missouri and Priscilla Cummings of Springfield, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her sisters, Jenny Blood and husband Ethan, Michelle Cummings and Melissa Cummings all of Sabine Pass, Texas, her brothers, Jason Cummings of Nederland, Texas, Jamie Cummings and wife Heidi of Sabine Pass, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
