A.D. Bellow, Jr., a cherished member of the Port Arthur community and a dedicated A/C mechanic, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on October 1, 1927, in Port Arthur, Texas, he lived a life rich with purpose, passion, and family values.
A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, A.D. was not only recognized for his technical skills but also for his unwavering commitment to his community. He spent many years working as an A/C mechanic, honing his craft and earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
Beyond his professional life, A.D. was a lifelong member of Memorial Baptist Church, where he found community and fellowship. His love for the outdoors was evident in his many pastimes, including hunting, fishing, and gardening. A man of many talents, he enjoyed building houses and fixing things, all while cultivating a green thumb that made his plants flourish.
An avid athlete, A.D. cherished playing basketball and baseball, remaining active and engaged in life until just a couple of months before his passing. His zest for life and admiration for the beauty of nature were matched only by his devotion to his family.
A.D. leaves behind a loving family that includes his sons, Bobby Bellow and wife Karen of Groves, and Tommy Bellow and wife Fran of Orange, as well as daughter-in-law Lisa Bellow. He was a proud grandfather to Justin Bellow and wife Beth, Robbie Bellow and wife Angie, Ashley Deglandon and husband Jimmy, Amy Callaway and husband Jarret, Blake Bellow and wife Ann, and Kirby Bellow and his wife Taylor.. A.D. was also a beloved great-grandfather to Kaden Bellow, Kyndel Bellow, Kinsley Bellow, Drake Callaway, Daylen Callaway, Braxton Callaway, Braylee Callaway, Lane Deglandon, Avery Deglandon, David Bellow, Vera Bellow, Owen Bellow, Brixton Bellow, and Bowie Bellow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avie Daniel Bellow, Sr. and Lillian (Tomplait) Bellow; his beloved wife Myrtle Jean Bellow; his son Danny Bellow; his brother James Bellow; and his sister Doris Crenshaw.
The community is invited to pay their respects during the visitation on July 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Clayton - Thompson Funeral Directors, located at 5200 W. Parkway, Groves, TX 77619. Afterward, A.D. will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park at 12:15 PM.
A.D. Bellow, Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and love for life will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
