Anna Lou Virdine, born on November 29, 1940, in Port Arthur, Texas, gracefully departed this life on June 26, 2025, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Anna lived a vibrant life dedicated to her family and career, known for her warm spirit and culinary talents that brought loved ones together across the years.

A devoted professional, Anna retired as Postmaster from the Beaumont, Texas Post Office, having spent many years serving the communities of Sabine Pass, Hankamer, and Hamshire-Fannett. Her commitment and dedication to her work were evident, and she left behind a legacy of hard work and service.

Anna cherished her time spent with family, where memories were often made through cooking delightful meals, dancing, listening to music, and enjoying outings at the casino. Her family will forever hold close those joyful moments shared filled with laughter and love.

Anna is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Sterling and her husband Butch; daughter, Renee Vidrine; and son, Jay Bonura and his wife, Jane, daughter, Jodie Nobles and her husband, Stanley. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Carl Ray, Susan Ray-Gass, David W. Lee, Samantha Sterling, Heather Sterling, Jay Vidrine, and Daniel Vidrine, as well as her many great-grandchildren, including Kobe Gass, Katelyn Gass, Chelsie, Justin, Hannah, and a great-great-grandchildren, Blayklee Gass, and Rylie. The family connection remains strong, nourished by cherished family gatherings.

Anna's extended family includes her beloved grandchildren, Lindsey Guidry, Anna Papa, Mathew Bonura, and Beth Englert, with great-grandchildren Riley, Taylor, Jasper, Luca, Raleigh, Brooklyn Harris, Gage Harris, Jett Harris and Poppy bringing additional joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Thomas Ferguson; mother, Kathrine (Stafford) Ferguson; first husband, Joseph Douglas Vidrine Sr.; second husband, Joe Lee Bonura; son, Joseph “Jay” Vidrine Jr., brother, Andy Ferguson; and sister, Bobbie Delatte. Their memories will forever be held dear in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with a gathering of family and friends from 12:00 PM until service time. Brother Miller will be officiating the service. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
