Chris P. Kibbe, a devoted father, beloved friend, and respected member of the community, passed away in New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on February 17, 1949, in Port Arthur, Texas, Chris lived a life filled with purpose and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
A proud Marine Sergeant and Vietnam Veteran, Chris embodied the spirit of service and dedication. His commitment to his country was matched only by his unwavering dedication to his community. As a long-time parishioner at Little Flower Church, he took active participation in church activities, fostering a sense of togetherness among fellow congregants.
Chris's talent and hard work were evident throughout his career. He was recognized as a Master Electrician and held the position of 2nd in command at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBW). His expertise and professionalism earned him the respect of his colleagues, and he was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, often going out of his way to assist those in need. A several-time Golden Glove Champion, he exemplified not only physical strength and skill but also the heart of a champion, always encouraging and mentoring those around him.
Chris was characterized by his good nature and his generosity. He was a friend to many, often described as charitable to his co-workers and anyone who crossed his path. His warm spirit and good-hearted demeanor created lasting friendships that enriched his life and the lives of others.
He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Kibbe, Kelsey Fruge and husband Jeremy, and Taylor Kibbe, ; his sons, Harry Kibbe and wife Wendy, and Jake Kibbe; his grandchildren Carolai Kibbe, Karson Fruge, Lilith Rose Kibbe, Robert Dean- Phillip Truit, Taylor Hardoin, and Brett Moore; his Great grandchildren, Laken Moore, Briella Moore, and Justin Moore; his sister, Gaynell Miller (Herman). These relationships were central to Chris's life, and he cherished each moment spent with them.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents, J.W and Vicki Kibbe; his daughter, Tammy Kibbe; and his brother, Bobby Kibbe. Though they are no longer with him, their memories will continue to inspire and remind those left behind of the enduring legacy of love and passion he has shared.
As we remember Chris P. Kibbe, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life dedicated to family, service, and friendship. His contributions to the community, his unwavering spirit, and his generous heart will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 9:00 A.M to 10:00 A.M followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 A.M both will be held at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Following will be an Inurnment at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
