Christine Guilbeau, born on February 25, 1927, in Gueydan, Louisiana, peacefully departed this world on January 10, 2026, in Orange, Texas. A cherished member of her family and community, she devoted her life to her vocation as a devoted homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Throughout her life, Christine took great pride in her accomplishments, one of which was crafting multiple items for the Priest and the Church, such as the beautiful Funeral Pall at Immaculate Conception-St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, a testament to her dedication and love for her faith. Her commitment extended beyond her family, as she engaged actively in her church community. She received various accolades, including the Stewartship Award and the Bishop Award, and she taught Catholic religion classes—both CCD and RICA—facilitating the spiritual growth of many. Christine was a devoted member of the Altar Society and served as a Lector at the church. In recognition of her contributions, she was also a member of the Chrisco Nuns in Louisiana.

In her free time, Christine was known as a master seamstress, a skill she honed under the guidance of her beloved mother. Her talents brought warmth and comfort not just to her family but also to the broader community through her handmade creations.

Christine is survived by her daughters, Gail Wright and her husband Robert Neel, and Karen Wood and her husband Todd; her son Steven Guilbeau and his wife Sandra; her son Kurt Guilbeau; along with fourteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

She rejoins in eternal rest her beloved husband Dudley Guilbeau, her parents Joseph Roy Richard and Malize Cormier Richard, her sons Kenneth and David Guilbeau, her daughter Dolores A. Pellerin, her son-in-law Ronnie Wright, her daughter-in-law Denise Guilbeau, and her six sisters and one brother.
