Deborah Ann Portillo

Deborah Ann Portillo, a cherished resident of Port Arthur, Texas, was born on November 27, 1958. She passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas, on June 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family and community. Deborah was known for her warm spirit and unwavering commitment to those she held dear.

For many years, Deborah served as a bookkeeper at Triangle Pawn Shop, where she found great joy in her work. Her colleagues and customers alike appreciated her dedication, attention to detail, and friendly demeanor. Beyond her professional life, Deborah had a wealth of interests that enriched her personal life. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, enjoyed gardening, and found excitement in visiting casinos.

A proud graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, Deborah was deeply rooted in her hometown. Her character was defined not only by her professional pursuits but also by her passions and the relationships she nurtured throughout her life.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Joe Louis Portillo, and their children, Katrina Portillo and Joseph Portillo, all of Port Arthur. She also leaves behind her dear nieces, Natasha Morgan and Brooke Mininni, along with three great nieces, two great nephews, and two great-great nieces who will carry her memory forward.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Harris, her mother, Donna (Harkins) Harris, and her brother, David Harris. Though they have departed from this life, their spirits will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved Deborah.

Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating her life at a special event hosted by Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves, Texas. The celebration will take place on July 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This gathering will honor the joy Deborah brought into the lives of all who knew her, reflecting on her kindness, warmth, and unwavering spirit. She will be profoundly missed, but her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to walk alongside her in life.
