Donald Lee Sullivan, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
He was born on November 14, 1957, in Port Arthur, Texas and was the beloved son of Betty Jean Goodin Bailey and Donald Wayne Bailey. His childhood was spent in Port Arthur and Groves and later moved to Port Neches as an adult.
Donald attended Port Neches-Groves High School and played football on the 1976 PNG 4A State Semi-Finalist Team. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the lake and the beach and later enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons.
Donald was a Boy Scouts of America Assistant Scout Master with World Famous Scout Troop 75 in Port Arthur, Tx. He and his sons enjoyed many productive years in Scouting, with his sons ultimately becoming Eagle Scouts.
Donald was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He began his working career as a Bricklayer and worked locally and across the country for 12 years. His work included various face brick and refractory brick companies, to include, Bailey-Buchanan Masonry, Reintjes Services and Brewer-Boserup Refractory Services, and numerous other companies.
He then attended and graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and was a member of various honor fraternities. His engineering career included working for M&I Electric, Schaumburg & Polk Engineering Firm and Total Energies, retiring in 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Donald is survived by his wife, Jeri Lynette Boudreaux Sullivan of Port Neches, his son Donald Lee Sullivan, Jr. and wife, Maria Cantu Sullivan of Commerce, Texas; son, Ryan Patrick Sullivan of Port Neches; brother, Charles Wayne Bailey of Vidor; and sister, Tawnya JoAnn Bailey of Buna; his granddaughters, Mercedes Monroy of Edinburg, Texas; Vivica Monroy of San Antonio, Texas and Cataleya Lee of Commerce, Texas.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 9:00am to 10:45am at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home 2001 Nall Street Port Neches, followed by a Mass at 11:00 am at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church 2006 Nall Street Port Neches. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton-Thompson Funeral Directors.
