Dot Terrell

Dotris (Dot) Terrell, 96yrs. Old of Groves, TX passed away, April 15, 2025. She was Born February 9, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Zoie Hays Guillot and Lonis B. Guillot of Marksville, LA.

They Moved to Port Arthur, TX in 1945 where she married Avery Terrell and lived in Groves until his death in 1990.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Groves where she was a member of Faith Sunday School Class and the W.M.U. She also sang in the Son-Shine Choir. She was a 27yr. member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She loved traveling, working in her yard and attending her great grandchildren’s activities. She also worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Ashey for many years.

She is survived by her son Ernest Terrell and his wife Eileen of Roatan, Honduras. Her daughter Beverly Terrell and her husband Van of Groves, TX. Three grandchildren: Darren Terrell and wife Stacey of Bridge City, Stephen Terrell of Groves, and Shelley Cowart and husband Doyle of Port Neches. Seven great grandchildren: Maura Landry and husband Clay, Kelby Delacruz and husband William, Ky Terrell, Harlie Abshire and husband Tristan, Kallie Cowart, Bailey Terrell, and Codey Terrell. Three great great grandchildren: Raelyn, Amzie, Lainee and 2 more on the way! She is also survived by her sister, Audria McFarland and her niece Kendy Walton of Monroe, La.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years and her parents and stepmother, Camella.

Honoring her as Pallbearers are Darren Terrell, Stephen Terrell, Ky Terrell, Dany Terrell, Doyle Cowart, and Jimmy Foret. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Terrell and Gerald Smith II.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Altus Hospice and The Holland Place for all the love and support they gave to our loved one, Dot.

We invite you to join us for a visitation for Dot Terrell, from 10 AM to 11 AM on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Following the visitation, there will be a Celebration of Life service, and then a burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
