Drury Rae Heilmann, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, departed this world on January 23, 2026, at the age of 90, in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on February 22, 1935, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, she spent her life cherishing family, nurturing traditions, and sharing her love with all around her.
Drury's professional journey led her to become a dedicated Cost Clerk at Standard Alloys, a machine manufacturing company where her attention to detail and commitment to her work left a lasting impression. Yet, it was her warm presence at home that defined much of her legacy. She was a beacon of love and kindness, always ready to gather her family around her table, where she delighted in cooking and creating moments that would become treasured memories.
A woman of simple joys, Drury loved the vibrancy of butterflies and the soothing comfort of her favorite color, pink. Her adventurous spirit flourished during family outings, where she enjoyed fishing, camping, and swimming, filling each occasion with laughter and joy.
Drury was proud of her educational roots, having graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Her faith played a significant role in her life as she was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Nederland, where she formed deep connections with her community.
She is survived by her two daughters, Terri Brentlinger and her husband, Garth, and Leslie Ledet and her fiancé, Pat White. Drury was truly blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit and legacy forward.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Ray Muckelrath and Drury Elizabeth Johnson-Muckelrath; her beloved husband, Robert Ledet Sr.; her son, Robert Ledet Jr.; and her dear brother, Phillip Muckelrath. Each of them left an indelible mark on her heart, and their memories continue to color her cherished life story.
As we remember Drury, may we carry forward the love and warmth she so generously shared, ensuring her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at a visitation on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by her funeral service at 1:30 PM, both held at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home 5200 West Parkway St. Groves, Texas.
In this time of remembrance, we honor Drury Rae Heilmann, a remarkable woman whose light continues to shine brightly in our memories. May she rest in eternal peace.
