Eliodoro Chavez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on December 5, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 75. Born on September 15, 1950, in Mexico, Eliodoro dedicated his life to hard work and family, proudly serving as a construction laborer throughout his career.

Eliodoro was a man who wore his cowboy hat as a symbol of his hearty spirit and love for life. Those who knew him fondly remember his warm smile and the stories he shared of his cherished visits back home to Mexico, where his roots were deeply embedded. These moments were special to him, as they allowed him to reconnect with his heritage and family, enriching his life with joy and tradition.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Maria Fabiola Mendoza-Chavez, and two sons, Heliodoro Chavez and Gerardo Chavez, who will honor his memory through the values he instilled in them. Eliodoro was also a proud grandfather to three grandkids: Alexia Richards, Gerardo Chavez, and Kassandra Chavez. Eliodoro is also survived by his cherished siblings: three sisters, Cesilia Alvarez, Delfina Garcia, and Susana Zalgado; and four brothers, Gustabo Chavez, Cesario Chavez, Jesus Chavez, and Alverto Chavez. Their laughter and companionship brought him profound joy, creating fond memories that will be treasured eternally.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eliodoro Chavez and Margarita Gonzalez Garcia-Chavez, and his beloved sister Berta Valencia, along with his brothers Salvador and Daniel Chavez. Their memories live on in the hearts of those they left behind.

The visitation for Eliodoro Chavez will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, located at 5200 West Parkway Street, Groves, Texas, 77619. Interment services will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland, Texas starting at 3:00 PM.

As we reflect on the life of Eliodoro, we are reminded of the values he embraced: hard work, dedication, and an enduring love for family. His legacy will continue through the memories cherished by all who were lucky enough to have known him. He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to share in his life.
