A Life Remembered

Obituary

Harvey Wayne Blankenship, born November 26, 1952, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on April 29, 2026, in Silsbee, Texas. A devoted family man and accomplished professional, Harvey's life was rich with commitment, passion, and unwavering dedication.

Harvey Blankenship was a respected Project Coordinator of the Bond Team at PA ISD, where his organizational skills and leadership left a lasting impact. Beyond his career, he was a proud member of the Carpenters Union of Beaumont and the National Rifle Association (NRA), reflecting his deep connection to both his trade and his personal principles.

Harvey found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in hunting at Section 45, fishing at the beach, and playing golf. These hobbies not only provided him with relaxation but also moments to bond with loved ones. Above all his achievements, he cherished spending time with his family – a testament to the warmth and love that defined his character.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Merle Hebert; his son, Keegan Blankenship; his daughter, Brixey Blankenship; grandchildren Isaiah Blankenship and Tristan Blankenship; as well as his brother and sister in law, Dirk and Sarah Blankenship. Their lives were profoundly enriched by his presence, guidance, and compassion.

Harvey was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Blankenship; his mother, Dorothy Elise Simon Quigley; and his brothers, Glenn Parker and Mark Blankenship. Though they have gone before, their memories lived on strongly in his heart.

A visitation to honor and remember Harvey Wayne Blankenship will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, located at 5200 West Parkway Street, Groves, Texas. May my Good Guy cousin Harvey Wayne rest in peace. We spent several summers together when his family came to visit us in the Louisiana countryside when we we young boys. Harvey and I were almost the same age so we buddied up and had great fun and funny times then. I will always remember those times and his happy funloving ways. In recent years he was so kind and caring to our Family as first my Mother and then my Father passed away. I want to send my sincere condolences to his Wife, Children and Grandchildren for their loss.

I will miss the joy on Harvey’s face every Christmas Eve. Having everyone together at your home each Christmas Eve was something he loved to do. You could tell by the beautiful smile he always had on his face all night. Especially watching his beloved Grandchildren, Niece and Nephew rip open presents. I can’t leave out the Crab Boils at the Beach. Hands down Harvey’s favorite meals!

So sorry to hear of Harvey’s passing. I have so many fond memories of spending “cousin” time with him during childhood family visits. In more recent years, he and Merle were so kind to my family as we lost family members and got through the Katrina experience. His words were especially comforting when Mom and Dad were ill. He showed what a truly kind and loving person he was. To Merle, his children and grandchildren, and Dirk - Please know he will always hold a special place in my heart and I extend sincere sympathy to each of you.❤️
