Jerry Elbert Beck, 81, of Port Neches TX passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Beaumont TX.
Jerry was born November 18, 1944, in Port Arthur TX to Jabus Ebbie Beck and Laurise Vincent Beck.
Jerry attended high school in Nederland TX and a Christian academy in Louisiana. After school, Jerry joined the army and was stationed in Germany as part of the Army Signal Corps. Upon his return, Jerry worked for Nederland Post Office for over 33 years. He wasn’t your typical mailman. He loved his job and the kids on his route. He would bring candy and throw it to (or was it AT) the kids in the neighborhood. If you needed help, he would take the extra time to help you.
After two previous marriages, 3rd time was the charm. Jerry met the love of his life!! He married Shirley Bourgeois December 1, 1991. They had 34 years of fun and adventure. Throw in Jerry being a trickster and a little obnoxious and you know why we think Shirley deserves a crown.
Jerry loved the woods and fishing. His dream was to have “a little place on the river where the grandkids could visit”. He loved traveling the country and participating in bicycle races. He also loved bowling and gambling and he loved helping others.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley Beck, and his sister, Beverly Beck Block, both of Port Neches. He is survived by his sons John Michael Beck (Greg) and Jason Beck (Angie), Jeff Moore (Mandy) and Ray Moore. He is also survived by his daughters Stephanie Beck Chamberlain (Trent), Tricia Beck Smith (Marty) and Tammy Moore LeBlanc (Troy). Jerry has 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jabus Ebbie Beck, mother, Laurise Beck, and sister, Evelyn Beck Billinger.
Memorial Service will be held at graveside at Oak Bluff at a date to be determined.
