Juanita Shuff

August 17, 1935 — September 21, 2024

Juanita Shuff was born on August 17, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana, moved to Port Arthur, Texas as an infant and passed away peacefully in Beaumont on September 21, 2024 at the age of 89.

She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Port Arthur School of Business. After graduation, she worked at Travelers Insurance Agency and then in the Shipping Department at Texaco Refinery. She retired from Star Enterprise in 1995 after 40 years. For many years she volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Juanita was a member of the board of directors of O.P.E.R.A. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, attending Thomas Jefferson High School reunions and cruising the world with good friends. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

Juanita was proceeded in death by her mother, Annette  Shuff and Godparents, Eugene and Edna Defrates. She is survived by her cousins Virginia Zizelmann and Rena and Craig Peterson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hughen Center at 2849 9th Ave, Port Arthur, Texas www.bobhopeschool.org.

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
