Justin Dane Merritt

Justin Dane Merritt, 37, born in Port Arthur, TX on October 30th, 1986. He gained his wings after a tragic car accident in Gonzales County, TX on December 1st, 2023. He was a Port Neches resident recently relocated to the Canyon Lake area to work in Austin.

He was a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School in 2005, where he learned his craft as a mechanic. He worked various jobs as a master mechanic along with refurbishing RVs. He was always there when you needed help.

Justin leaves behind: a son, Julian Dane Merritt 17 of Groves, TX; his mother and stepfather, Linda & Joe Delgadillo of Groves, TX; his father, Matthew Merritt of Canyon Lake, TX; his grandmother, Anna June Ramirez of Port Arthur, TX; his brother, Dylan Paul Merritt of Groves, TX; his 2 stepbrothers, Zebulun (Jillian) Delgadillo of Groves, TX and Zade Delgadillo of Port Acres, TX; his nephew, Jayce Taylor Merritt of Oklahoma, his niece, Kaylor Rae Merritt of Groves, TX; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Carlos M. Ramirez, his grandparents, Woodrow & Beatrice Merritt, his uncle, Michael Ramirez, and his 2 cousins.

Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Arrangements for cremation were handled in Austin, Texas.
