It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laurie Jackson Delarosa, who departed this life on July 5, 2026, in Lumberton, Texas. Born on December 1, 1975, in Port Arthur, Texas, Laurie lived a life full of love, kindness, and quiet strength. She never sought recognition or praise. She simply loved the people around her with all her heart, and that became the legacy she leaves behind.

More than anything, Laurie loved her family. They were her greatest joy and always came before anything else. She was one of the most selfless people you could ever know, always putting others first and never wanting to be a burden to anyone. Even through the most difficult times, she was more concerned about how everyone else was doing than herself. If someone she loved was hurting, Laurie was hurting too.

She had a special gift for reading people. She could often tell within minutes if someone had a kind and genuine heart. She wasn't impressed by money, status, or appearances. She believed a person's character was what truly mattered, and she naturally surrounded herself with people whose hearts matched her own. Her kindness wasn't something she turned on when people were watching, it was simply who she was.

Laurie found happiness in the simple things that many people pass by without noticing. She had a true green thumb and could make just about anything grow. Her flowers, plants, and garden were a reflection of the patience and care she poured into everything she loved. She found peace watching the birds outside, and she had a deep love for animals. Her pets were never "just pets" they were family, and she loved and cared for them with all her heart.

She also had a fun side that made her smile. She loved listening to the police scanner and could spend hours watching crime documentaries and horror movies. Those quiet evenings became some of the memories her family will treasure most, proving that the best moments in life are often the simplest ones shared with the people you love.

As a hairstylist, Laurie did far more than style hair. She listened without judgment, encouraged people when they needed it, celebrated their joys, and comforted them through their struggles. Many people came to her as clients and left feeling like family. She had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Laurie's memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Juan Delarosa of Lumberton; their devoted daughter, Kindra Delarosa; and her beloved grandson, Lars Tucker, who brought endless joy to her life. She is also survived by her loving parents, Thomas Jackson, Sr. and Becky Jackson; her brother, Thomas Jackson Jr. and his wife, Nicole, of Port Neches; her sister, Tammy Lynn McIntosh of Beaumont; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were made better simply because Laurie was part of them.

Laurie was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Jami Delarosa.

The world often measures a life by accomplishments, but Laurie measured hers by love. She taught us that the smallest acts of kindness are often the ones that last the longest, that family is life's greatest blessing, and that a gentle heart is one of the strongest things a person can have. While our hearts are broken by her absence, we will forever be grateful that we were blessed to know her, to love her, and to be loved by her. Her love will continue to live on in the lives she touched, in every flower that blooms, in every bird that sings, and in the hearts of all who will carry her memory forward.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

Laurie will be remembered at a visitation on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm followed by a Celebration of her life at 3:00 pm all to be held at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, 5200 39th Street, Groves, Texas.
