It is with solemn respect and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Michael Patrick Richardson, a devoted family man, esteemed veteran, and dedicated professional, who departed this life on May 15, 2026, in Webster, Texas. Born on November 23, 1948, in Port Arthur, Texas, Michael lived a life marked by commitment, service, and love.
Michael’s journey began in the humble surroundings of Sabine Pass, where he cultivated values that would shape his extraordinary life. With a steadfast sense of duty, he honorably served the nation in the Air Force, a chapter of his life that stood as one of his proudest accomplishments. Following his military service, Michael dedicated forty years to his career as a truck driver with JB Hunt, a profession he not only embraced but deeply loved. His passion for the road and the open highways was emblematic of his enduring spirit and work ethic.
A man who found joy and fulfillment in family above all else, Michael treasured every moment with his loved ones. Stories about his travels and experiences on the road were a cherished aspect of his legacy, captivating those fortunate enough to hear them and reflecting the rich tapestry of a life well-lived.
Michael’s surviving family includes his beloved son Jeremy Richardson and his wife Kristen of Evadale, and his cherished daughter Kelley Lester of Pueblo, Colorado. His legacy also continues through his grandchildren: Kat Lester, Dane Lester, and Trinity Guillote. Michael’s bond with family extended beyond his immediate descendants, encompassing his dear brother Mark Richardson of Groves and his nephew Nathan Paul Richardson of Sabine Pass, who carry forward his memory and spirit.
In addition to those who now survive him, Michael was preceded in death by his loving parents, Nathan and Clelie Richardson, and his brother David Richardson. Their remembrance remains woven into the fabric of his story.
A visitation to honor Michael’s life will be held on May 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Clayton - Thompson Funeral Directors located at 5200 W. Parkway, Groves, Texas, 77619. The funeral service will follow on May 23, 2026, commencing at 1:00 p.m. at the same location, followed by a graveside service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, providing an opportunity for family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Michael to gather in tribute.
Michael Patrick Richardson's life was a testament to dedication—to country, to work, and to family. He will be remembered with reverence and affection, his memory forever etched in the hearts of those who knew him. May his journey beyond this life be peaceful, and may his story continue to inspire.
