Monika Charnley, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 76. Born on May 24, 1949, in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Monika embraced life with warmth and a spirit of generosity that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
As a dedicated Baker Manager at Alford's Supermarket, later becoming Bruce's Market, Monika's passion for baking was evident in the delicious treats she crafted and shared generously with her family, friends, and customers. Monika was also a faithful listener of Pastor Jimmy Swaggart, drawing strength and inspiration from her faith. This cornerstone of her life served to guide her through challenges and celebrate the joyous moments, which she cherished immensely.
Family was everything to Monika. She is survived by her beloved husband, James Charnley, who stood by her side through countless memories and adventures. Their bond was a testament to true companionship, filled with laughter and unconditional love. Monika's heart swells with pride and joy when she thinks of her daughters, Stephanie Fay Rhoades and her husband, Bryan, and Michelle Monic Reuss and her life partner, Todd Wendling.
Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren—Brittney, Tristen, Jacob, James, and Teslynn—who brought immeasurable joy to her life. As a grandmother, her love knew no bounds, and she took delight in every new milestone and cherished every moment spent with them. Monika also relished the role of great-grandmother to her five great-grandchildren: Willow, Emerey, Marley, Jaxon, and Killian, who filled her heart with laughter and her days with light.
She was a loving sister to Hermine Huber, Elfriede Blacketer, Marlise Harmon, and Norbert Pressmann. Together, they shared an unbreakable bond that was filled with love and laughter, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Monika was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Pressmann and Maria Weber-Pressmann, as well as seven siblings, who were undoubtedly waiting to embrace her with open arms.
As we reflect upon her life, we remember Monika Charnley as a woman who radiated love and kindness. Her legacy of baking, cooking, and infinite devotion to her family will forever be engraved in our hearts. Monika, with her gentle spirit and caring nature, will be dearly missed. May she rest in heavenly peace.
