Myrna Lee "Bugs" Becker

April 3, 1935 — March 15, 2026

Lumberton

Myrna Lee "Bugs" Becker, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Port Arthur community, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Silsbee, Texas. Born on April 3, 1935, in Port Arthur, Texas, Myrna's life was a testament to warmth, dedication, and spirited joy.

A familiar and comforting presence to many, Myrna served the community as a School Crossing Guard at Lee Elementary in Port Arthur Independent School District for several years. Her commitment extended beyond her career into numerous facets of community life—she was a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School's class of 1953, an active member of the Port Arthur Police Association, the Police Woman Association, and contributed her time to the High School Reunion Committee. Notably, she also shared her love for music and camaraderie as a member of the Red Hussars Bugle Corps.

Myrna was truly a social butterfly. One of her favorite things she ever did was be a hostess at Leo & Willie's Restaurant, with a natural gift for bringing people together with her infectious spirit and kindness. Her passions blossomed in her beautiful rose gardens, where she found peace and joy. She was also an avid knitter, a skill she treasured alongside her love for hunting and surf fishing—hobbies that brought her closer to nature and family alike.

Myrna's legacy of love lives on through her family. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Tommy M. Becker Jr., and his wife, Tammy; her daughter, Bonnie Becker Crall, and her husband, Ralph. She was a proud grandmother to Shane Perio and his wife, Regina, Brandon Barnette, Doug Crall, and Matt Crall, and a kind and gentle great-grandmother to Skye Perio, Chloe Plunkett, and Tucker Crall. Though she leaves behind a vibrant and loving family, she was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Horace Gonsoulin and Georgia Mazarol-Gonsoulin; her beloved husband, Tommy M. Becker Sr.; and her sisters and brother-in-laws, Geraldine Adamson, T.J. Adamson, Ozelle Lachausse, and Henry Lachausse.

The community and all who knew her will gather to honor Myrna’s memory. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, 5200 West Parkway, Groves, Texas, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Myrna's inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas during a private family graveside service at a later date.

Myrna Lee Becker’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. She leaves behind a shining example of kindness and grace that will continue to inspire generations to come.
