Sandra Jean Simmons

Sandra Jean Simmons, born on June 12, 1942, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully in her hometown on May 11, 2025. She leaves behind a cherished legacy woven through the lives of those who adored her.

A dedicated professional, Sandra made her mark as a Manager of Convenient Stores, where her commitment and leadership shone brightly. Her warm smile and approachable manner not only made her an exceptional manager but also a beloved figure among her colleagues and customers alike.

Sandra was more than just her career; she was a vibrant spirit who found joy in the thrill of life. A lover of adventure, she often delighted in trips to Las Vegas, where the glittering lights of the casinos mirrored her own dazzling personality. Her laughter could fill a room, and her zest for life inspired all who were lucky enough to know her.

She is survived by her loving son, Daryl Ray Scroggs of Port Arthur, who will forever carry her spirit in his heart. Sandra also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Janis Kelso of Kountze, TX, and Marilyn Sue Russell of Chester, TX, as well as her dear brother, C.J. Moity, Jr. Together, they share the memories of a woman who brought joy and light into their lives.

Sandra is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Clarence and Ruby Moity, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable person she became.

A visitation in honor of Sandra will be held on May 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Clayton - Thompson Funeral Directors, located at 5200 W. Parkway, Groves, TX 77619.
