Shelia (Burleigh) Stansbury passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Port Arthur, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. Born on August 25, 1949, in the quiet town of Evangeline, Louisiana, she was the beloved daughter of Raslee and Elizabeth Burleigh, who precede her in death.

Throughout her life, Shelia an unwavering commitment to her various careers, serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Physical Assistant, and Security. Her dedication to helping others was a testament to her compassionate spirit and strong work ethic. While her professional pursuits were significant, Shelia also cherished the joys of life outside of work. She was particularly fond of spending time in the outdoors, often enjoying hunting adventures with her husband, Stephen Stansbury, who also predeceased her.

Shelia’s warm-hearted nature and love for her family will be profoundly missed. She is survived by her cherished children: Crystal Hatcher, and her husband Mike; Shawn Johansen; Dawn Johansen; Tammi Gribble; Heather Gillette, along with her husband Kyle; and Kenneth Stansbury and his wife Crystal. In addition, she leaves behind numerous grandchildren; Heather Kasten, Kristin Hatcher, Gabe Gillette, Logan Gillette, Zachary Stansbury, Joab Gribble, Makiah Gribble. Great grand children; Landon Jones, Sofi Kasten, Shelby Kasten, Zade Gribble, Ivan Gribble, Ren Gribble, Isla Gribble who were a source of great joy in her life.

As we bid farewell to Shelia Stansbury, we celebrate the life of a devoted wife, mother, and friend, whose gentle spirit touched many. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the enduring love she shared with her family and friends.
